I usually don't do this, but I want people's opinions. Do you think the background is too busy? Well, I know it's busy, I want it to be busy, what I mean is are the characters in the foreground overwhelmed? I've been having fits with it. Thanks!
Heh heh, they look so hipsterish! I think the background's just fine. It's balanced just right between the heavy, squiggly pen marks, flooding their feet like tidal waves, and the lighter, more marker-y background lines that look like the network of a road map. It's cool.
My eye immediately went to the girl's snarlflirtkiss. Very attention-grabbing. I then checked out the guy as he coolly blasts his '80s vibe. The pair probably get along very well in a "Tyler & Marla" kind of way. I love your style, by the way. It vaguely reminds me of Egon Schiele, but on anti-depressants.
I really loved the woman's expression. but I don't know what do you want to say 'bout the background being "busy" in your question. -English is not my first language, so...
It's not so much that the background is busy, I think that works fine, but it's that there is a portion of the design that is overlaying the characters (the swirly thing at the bottom) that I think is a little distracting. Otherwise, I think it's great! It's eye-catching and fun and appropriate!
It is busy, but you could always leave the design and make the background colors stand out less. The bright colors are a bit overbearing, I wouldn't mind the background otherwise.
Good picture, I do think it's a little busy, what it seems to be to me are the purplish lines and how they go through the characters legs. It'd work a little better if those lines were more in the background instead of foreground.
